Shaping What Has Shaped Us

Buonopane, a little village on the south of the island, where Vittoria spent the first 12 years of her life. Not much to the place, then and now. One church, two cafes, plus the famous spring of Nitrodi, where the Etruscan and Roman nobility came to bathe in the healing waters. I wonder about the garish religious iconography, which is similar to what I grew up with in America as an altar boy. When Monsignor Kasmirski said, "Dominus vobiscum," I was required to reply, "Et cum spiritu tuo." How have these images shaped her? Have they shaped me?
