On this visit to the Casino I was about to get a good close-up of one of the roulette wheels when a young guy in a suit and two identification badges affixed to his lapels stopped me. “No photography is permitted on the casino floor,” he said.
I replied that I had been earlier informed by security personnel that photography was permitted, with the exception of the individual slot machines. “No, I’m sorry,” he said. “No photographs are permitted.”
I gave him a friendly smile and said, “Well, all right,” and walked away.
When I got to the other side of the enormous floor, I gripped my Nikon dangling from its strap and, holding it very steady, took a series of shots. Many of them were of people at—you guessed it—the individual slot machines.
