Little Dust Devil

On the one hand there is the pattern of leafy shadows on an old stucco wall. On the other there are the banal day-to-day encounters…like dust devils on a dry lakebed in Arizona, that is, transient little flurries that soon disappear.

Subject: Waive My Late Fee or I’ll Find Another Bank

On the 1st of August I attempted to transfer a payment from my checking account to my credit card account. I see, however, this transfer did not go through, and now I have been charged a $35 late fee.

This morning I attempted another transfer, and apparently it worked.

Given that I have been a good customer of yours for many years now, I would appreciate it very much if you would waive that late fee. If you do not, then I'll start looking for another bank.

that happened to me once and believe me, it is only a one-time courtesy fee. the second time they fucked it up they refused to credit the charge to my account. greedy vultures.

rather, i should say it happened to me twice.
