banalities but what occurs to me:
the bride has an interesting face
interesting enough that I try to imagine her
in other expressions and situations
the mass seems celebrated well
in fact it was not a disaster to move the
altar off the east wall
it is all in how and in what spirit etc

As one who photographed a few weddings back in the day, I found it surprising at how the Italian still and video photographers wandered about the ceremony so freely. No previous wedding I ever covered in America permitted such a thing.

the bride's smile seemed a little
strained perhaps less cameras zipping
around would be better... are they famous
people, dont quite look it. 'ordinary'
people in sunday best.

She's the bride of Giovanni, the brother of my former landlord, Nino, and she joins the Patalano family, who were former seafarers, now wealthy landowners and businessmen on the island.

yes that sounds right...not a princess of the
house of parma or something. I like that her
fixed smile does not seem the kind that is
intended to be fantastically charming
I russian young man I know married a young
lady whose first perceptible flaw to my eye
was a stunning smile which seemed to go with
self absorption...now the marriage is in trouble...
perhaps they will do well
on another hand would it not be more charming
to romantics like us if landowners and
businessmen became seafarers?
