WINTER STORM WARNING
in effect until Monday, Dec 27, 1:00 PM
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 PM EST MONDAY...
* PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS: SIX TO TEN INCHES.
* TIMING: BEGINNING THIS MORNING AND ENDING BY NOON MONDAY. THE GREATEST INTENSITY WILL BE FROM THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.
* IMPACTS: TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS DUE TO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
* WINDS: NORTHERLY WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH EXPECTED.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

Actually, I could tell from your recent posts that you're in my local area. Of course I was just in Italy. Like ships passing in the night, we are. I hope you don't have travel plans for the next few days.

I'm hunkered down, have absolutely no plans to get out there in the snow. Where in Italy were you?

Landed in Milan, where I spent a few days before taking the train to Savona, got on board a cruise ship, got off at Civitavecchia where I took a train to Rome, spending two days there before flying back to New York.
